Auckland restaurants with no surcharge over Easter

Catching up with friends or family for a nice restaurant meal over Easter is a fantastic idea, but who wants to pay a pesky surcharge?

We’ve done some research and come up with list of Auckland venues where you won't have to worry about paying a premium just because it's a public holiday.

Bolliwood, Ponsonby

Bolliwood will not only be remaining open over Easter but it’ll be imposing no special surcharges whatsoever. Stop in for your Indian food fix – check out the $10 lunch special available every day of the week.

Observatory Restaurant, central Auckland

Take a ride up the Sky Tower to Observatory Restaurant this Easter and enjoy a buffet dinner without having to pay a holiday surcharge. This SkyCity restaurant specialises in seafood.

Orbit Revolving Restaurant, central Auckland

Like Observatory, Orbit Revolving Restaurant has food to match the stunning views over Auckland. It’ll be open over Easter weekend with no surcharge to speak of.

The Terrace, central Auckland

For more buffet and less Easter holiday surcharge, you can’t miss The Terrace – a five-star buffet restaurant with elegant al fresco dining in a lovely courtyard.

Bellota, central Auckland

Bellota boasts as authentic Spanish tapas experience as you’ll find in Auckland – with no surcharge on Good Friday or Easter Monday. This restaurant comes highly recommended by the Menus team.

The Jade Dragon, central Auckland

One of Auckland’s best yum char restaurants, The Jade Dragon will make for an excellent dining experience this Easter weekend. Choose from authentic Chinese cuisine and a great selection of live seafood.

Rebo, central Auckland

For a sophisticated yet casual dining experience over Easter, you can’t do much better than Rebo on Federal Street in central Auckland.

Euro, Princes Wharf

Situated in the heart of the Auckland waterfront, Euro Restaurant and Bar on Princes Wharf is the crowning glory of New Zealand celebrity chef Simon Gault. You’ll find no surcharge here – just amazing food.

Jervois Steak House, Herne Bay

How about a big juicy steak on Good Friday? You won’t have to pay any extra for it at Jervois Steak House just because it’s a public holiday.

Cobb & Co, Manukau

The Manukau branch of this classic family restaurant chain is open for business over Easter – and ANZAC Day – with no surcharge whatsoever.

Acacia Restaurant & Garden Bar, Ellerslie

Our pick of the lot for Easter family fun is at Acacia restaurant in the Novotel hotel in Ellerslie, Auckland. Enjoy a stunning seafood buffet on Good Friday from 6pm to 10pm for $55 per person with a complimentary glass of wine or beer.

On Easter Sunday, enjoy an Easter buffet brunch and an egg hunt around the Acacia garden bar from 9am to 1pm. It costs $35 per adult and up to three children aged 0-12 years dine free when accompanied by two adults. Bookings are essential.
