What a cool place, went for the BBQ last Sunday with other 5 friends and we had a great time. The place is beautiful, It was packed but they managed to give us a table outside..lovely deck...I I call that great service as we didn't make a reservation but they were happy with that. The Jamaican Chicken Jerk was perfect, as I remembered from living in New York, where I tried few places before. We spent the afternoon, drinking cocktail, listening to the DJ's Caribbean Music and sharing the great BBQ food. The food is different but well executed and very affordable.(that is plus) Will be back soon, my recommendation for a relax afternoon with good food and music.

Not many places in Auckland have the character and heritage that we all love and try to protect. Well, Atico has it all, great food, cool deco and lovely food. It was our early start of the evening with some drinks including exoctic caipirinhas or something like that from Brazil, then the 10 of us tried almost every tantaliser on the menu, just perfect to start our Saurday night! our recommendation is the ceviches......you certantly want to come back just for them. Service probably needs a bit of tunning but in general a superb experience in the old VicPark Market that is coming back to be the place in town.

I decided to go after hearing that the Victoria Park Market has finally starting to open some shops. I went with a friend looking for the new shops and a quick bite to eat after work. The market was already closing with no many shops but already looking great. The building was in much need of a refresh and we think it would be a success and a point of difference. Anyway after checking the few shops, we went to Atico which is actually accessible from the street rather than the market. We started with a bottle of Teravin, beautiful wine. My companion ordered some tantalisers "small plates" to share. The ceviche with the fish of the day was different from expected as there is no coconut milk, nevertheless delicious. we had three more including chiken jerk, patatas bravas and cuban prawns which are to die for. Our mains follow with no disappointment, perfectly cooked steak and a very nice scallop salad. Skipping desert to allow for some coffees which I believe are from South America, perfect. Our quick bite to eat ended up being a long and relaxing dinner experience that I certainly will repeat some time soon.
