Antipasto platter at FISH restaurant in Auckland

FISH restaurant in Auckland has unleashed a new and innovative “antipasto table” where you can watch head chef Shane Yardley will literally prepare antipasto before your eyes.

Diners will be able to watch him prepare and cook gnocchi, and slice cured meat such as Parma prosciutto and Felino salami with an authentic 1960’s Berkel meat slicer.

Errected in the middle of the restaurant, the antipasto table is a celebration of Italian, Spanish and French delicacies, and also features some of the best cheeses you’ll find anywhere in the world – including parmigiano reggiano, which is considered the best parmesan in the world.

The antipasto table will be available from 12pm until late every day and, although antipasto is traditionally the first course in an Italian meal, you might be tempted to make this the main attraction.

Meanwhile, if you’re after a business lunch in a hurry, you might like to try out FISH’s “ready, set, lunch” special. Enjoy two courses for $35 or three for $45.
