Waiheke Island of Wine Expo 2011

Winter is fast approaching which means it’s time to get snug and cosy in front of the fire, enjoying a luscious glass of wine, perfectly matched with your comforting winter meal.

And now’s your chance to discover some of New Zealand’s finest wines at the third annual Waiheke Island of Wine Expo

With its sunshine, sea breezes and rolling hills, the island of Waiheke has been defined as one of the world’s most exclusive wine growing regions, producing wines with intense varietal flavour, freshness and purity.

Taste, sip and savour some of the best the island has to offer, all leading wine and all Waiheke Certified, meaning the products have been created to the standards of discerning consumers.

Held at two different locations in Wellington and Auckland, it’s your chance to mix and mingle with the winemakers as well.

The Wellington expo will be held on May 24 2011 from 4pm-7pm at the Museum of Wellington City & Sea in Jervois Quay. 11 Waiheke Island Vineyards will be exhibiting more than 60 great wines including varieties of Merlot, Rose, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec and Syrah.

The second expo will be held in Auckland on May 31 2011 from 4pm-7pm at the Harbourside Restaurant in the Ferry Building on Quay Street down town. 14 Waiheke Island Vineyards will be exhibiting more than 70 wines including varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Rose, Merlot, Malbec and Montepulciano.

Tickets are priced at $25 per person and are available now.
